Originally conceived by the labor movement during the late 19th century, Labor Day has evolved into a widespread celebration that encompasses picnics, barbecues, and the unofficial end of summer.
While it's a day off for many, Labor Day also serves as a reminder of the importance of workers and their role in building a strong economy.
